Dr. Mrinmoy Das
Division of Medical Research, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur
Dr. Mrinmoy Das is a translational immunologist focused on deciphering immune pathways that underlie chronic allergic and inflammatory diseases affecting diverse populations in India. His research encompasses atopic dermatitis, asthma, allergic rhinitis, COPD, food allergy, and susceptibility to upper and lower respiratory tract infections. After seven years of postdoctoral and instructor-level training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, he established a research group at SRM Institute of Science and Technology that integrates clinical observations with mechanistic cellular and molecular immunology. His work investigates epithelial barrier dysfunction, IgE-mediated immune activation, basophil-T cell communication, and host-microbial interactions that govern the initiation, progression, and recurrence of disease. The laboratory aims to discover clinically relevant biomarkers and translate mechanistic insights into early diagnostic tools and targeted therapeutic strategies to improve risk prediction, patient stratification, and long-term disease management.
