The Division of Medical Research, SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, organized a session on ‘Orientation on Cochrane Library & Cochrane Review ’ on July 11, 2024 has successfully and effectively been completed. This session aimed to create an understanding of the ample opportunities provided by the Cochrane Library and enhance the knowledge of Cochrane Reviews for professionals and students.
The session featured esteemed speakers, including:
- Dr. Gurupackiam M, Research Scientist & Cochrane Author at Dept of HIV and STI, ICMR- National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai
- Mr. Amarnath N, Marketing Head, Daiknow Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru
Each speaker gave brief and detailed lectures on the importance and the use of evidence in methodology, even offering simple lessons on how to use the Cochrane Library, and how to carry out Cochrane Reviews. The combination of their knowledge and science explained the importance of such resources for furthering the field of medicine as well as for the patients.
The event re-echoes the college’s unwavering priority in the enhancement of constant training for all health professionals. The audience received a taste of a wide range of concepts of EBM and the workshop empowered them with methodologies that may improve their work.
